Activating Mountain Dew in Speedway Gas Stations Across the United States.
CREATING A GAME
Mountain Dew, Speedway & the NBA.
Speedway Gas Stations and Mountain Dew were looking for ideas on how to activate consumers in their stores to do the following: Sign up loyalty members, provide currently loyalty members with more rewards and make one of those awards a Mountain Dew.
Most games on a tablet for this type of activation are usually Scratch & Win or Spin to Win. However, I came up with the idea to utilize Mountain Dews partnership with the NBA and created two games in-which are more inline with the brand. A basketball chance game and a bottle flip game.
The next step was to begin designing. Abiding by Mountain Dews carefully curated brand guidelines, I was given free reign to enhance my idea with my visuals.
The chance game wasn't necessarily difficult. You set the odds and you provide multiple animations for wins and losses. Multiple because you can display different types of losses. For example, the basketball bouncing off the right of the rim or the left. This made the game more dynamic.
The experience is a hit and it being set up across Speedway Gas Stations across the nation.
